“Juanita and Wally Nelson were civil rights activists, war tax refusers, peace activists, subsistence farmers, and advocates of simple living who lived at their homestead on Woolman Hill (Deerfield, MA) for more than 40 years starting in 1974. Their homestead now serves as a destination for visitors who wish to find out about their lives and their legacy.

Eyes on Freedom, commissioned by the Nelson Legacy Project and produced by Carrie and Michael Kline of “Talking Across the Lines,” tells their story from the perspective of those who knew them as well as contains vintage audio recordings of the Nelsons.”
