Come to the Peace & Justice Center on Sunday, January 19th at 3pm for a conversation with Professor Alan Steinweis about the research and impact of Raul Hilberg. Hilberg’s seminal work The Destruction of the European Jews was a landmark moment in Holocaust studies, influencing countless subsequent historians and the global population in understanding the Nazi atrocities. Hilberg himself escaped Nazi-occupied Austria in 1939 with his family, ultimately coming to UVM in 1955. In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, come learn about this globally impactful Burlington local.”

“‘Abolition & Revolution’ is a radical archival documentary film by Burlington filmmaker/activist April Fisher. The film weaves together footage of the Black Panthers, Young Lords, Zapatistas, and other luminary freedom fighters into one piece that aims to incite and inspire.
